I'm always on the lookout for innovative ways to enhance stress relief, bring us back to our bodies and make life easier. Recently, we introduced Shakti Mats to our offerings, and they've quickly become a favourite among our community.
Shakti Mat for Christmas
Last Christmas, I took a chance and bought a Shakti Mat for Iain. It was a wild card seen as it's not something he would typically use. To my delight, he loved it! Since then, he’s used it every night before bedtime (except during our recent camping trip and when we were down with norovirus, which is fair enough!). Those 20minutes on the mat are an essential part of his bedtime routine.
Seeing how much he enjoyed it, FOMO kicked in I wanted one for myself. Initially, I ordered a couple of cheaper alternatives from Amazon, hoping to save some pennies. Unfortunately, they didn’t compare; they were ineffective and I could barely feel anything. Finally, I surrendered and invested in a proper Shakti Mat, and I’m so glad I did.
I use mine most nights but I also often use it on an afternoon in my break for 10 minutes when I'm running a retreat or working and need an extra boost.
Recently I had a load of stuff going on. Usually when I get into bed I fall asleep before I can remember to think about it but this particular night my mind was whirring - I hadn't tossed and turned and humphed like that in a long, long time. I was getting really frustrated. Eventually I caved to the voice in my head whispering Use the Shakti mat...! I got it on the bed, and within less than 60 seconds I was passed out. Done. I bloody love it.
What is a Shakti Mat?
